Kaspersky Gets 100% in Real-World Malware Protection Test

Kaspersky’s consumer security software Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 was recently awarded the highest five-star rating in MRG Effitas Real-World Protection test, after detecting and blocking 100% of the 585 threats included in the test. The threats included current zero-day exploits, financial malware, and ransomware.

Oleg Ishanov, Director of the Anti-Malware Research Unit at Kaspersky Labs, has a different way of looking at this award:

To receive the highest MRG Effitas award is a worthy achievement, but more than that these test results are a kind of marker which indicates a high-quality security solution. Any protection product must be able to safeguard the user from the real and dangerous threats such as backdoors, financial malware, ransomware, rootkits, etc. A product which cannot do this can hardly be called a security solution.

Other recent independent test results include AV-Comparatives’ Real-World Protection Test in April of this year, where Kaspersky Internet Security also successfully blocked 100% of malicious attacks.

Other security solutions from Kaspersky include Kaspersky PURE Total Security, and the multi-platform solution Kaspersky ONE Universal Security.
