Avast first got famous for its popular free antivirus software, which has had over 150 million registrations worldwide; however, you should never expect too much from free software, especially in days where malware – including hackers out to steal your money or your identity – get more common by the day. Instead, for complete Internet Security from Avast, you should consider Avast Internet Security.

With Avast Internet Security you will get complete protection from viruses and other malware (spyware, rootkits, etc.) in real time, as well as antispam and firewall features to keep your PCs – and your personal data – completely protected at all times. Automatic updates are included for up to 3 years, depending on the type of license you choose.

Avast Internet Security 2015 Key Features

  • Complete protection from malware – With Avast Internet Security’s innovative scanning engine you will get complete real-time protection from all types of malware, including viruses, spyware, and rootkits. Infected files are processed automatically, instead of asking the user for instructions.
  • Built-in self-protection system – With viruses and other malware getting smarter and smarter, Avast’s built-in self protection system makes sure malware doesn’t simply turn off your antivirus program.
  • Remove viruses from already infected computers - If your computer is already infected by a virus, Avast! comes with a built-in tool to remove most common malware.
  • Chat and download music without worries – Avast works with over 30 different types of P2P sites (Kazaa, Limewire, Morpheus, uTorrent etc.) and Instant Messaging clients to make sure these very common entry points for viruses are completely covered.
  • Boot-time scanner – In addition to the normal scanning types offered by most antivirus brands, Avast also lets you scan your computer for infections before the operating system has started and before a virus can be activated.
  • Additional, community-based level of protection – With CommunityIQ, Avast uses a global network of sensors to receive data taken from actual web-browsing experiences of an opt-in group of users. This information is used to protect Avast users with the most up-to-date info on viruses and infected websites. On any given month, tens of thousands of infected websites are discovered thanks to CommunityIQ! Additionally, WebRep also uses community-provided feedback to provide website reliability and reputation ratings.
  • “Sandbox” for additional security – With the Avast Sandbox, you and your PC will get an extra layer of security by running everything in a virtual environment. Any attacks will be targeted here, instead of your real PC. New for v6 is the AutoSandbox, which will prompts users to run suspicious applications in the virtual Sandbox environment. This feature is supported in Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Server 2004 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit and Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit.
  • Light on system resources – Avast is a light product that will not slow your computer down. Its intelligent scanner reduces the number of required file scans by up to 80% through a white list of safe applications. Unless these files change, they will not be scanned again. Scans can be scheduled to run at specific times, or on demand. Updates are automated and quick.
  • Silent Firewall – The firewall lets you control incoming and outgoing traffic from your computer. Protection is based on heuristic and behavioral analysis, as well as a white list of known safe applications. There are three network settings which can be changed depending on the type of connection. A firewall is one of the main ways to make sure your computer doesn’t get turned into a botnet “zombie”.
  • Antispam – A comprehensive spam and phishing filter works as a plug-in to MS Outlook and as a generic POP3/IMAP4 proxy for other email clients. Keep those annoying and unwanted emails away!
  • Safe online shopping and banking – New SafeZone opens a new (clean) desktop so that other programs can’t see what’s happening. It also leaves no history once it’s closed. Now you can shop and bank online more securely than ever before.

I simply let it do its thing...

 Curt B
As a virus program, Avast Antivirus Pro is pretty good; however, at first I found the interface to be a little complex for my liking. I’m a beginner when it comes to computers though – others might not agree. Once I decided to simply let my Avast software do its thing (without too much involvement from my side) I’ve been very happy.

Love the personalization features!

 Andrea M
Avast is very easy to use, and even though this doesn’t really say much about its virus-fighting abilities, I love that I can personalize it. I am now using a cool Apple Mac-like skin for my antivirus software. The protection is great too of course, so I’m not using Avast just because of its fun additional features.

Happy with Avast Pro Antivirus

 Alex N
I just installed Avast Pro Antivirus and so far I’m happy. It’s cheap, and it seems like a pretty light product too, which is great. I don’t need any more antivirus software that bogs down my computer…

Upgraded from the free version

 Brooke R
I started out with the free Avast edition, but realized – when I kept hearing about people whose identity got stolen, or that lost a lot of money online, and so on – that free antivirus software might not be enough. Seeing I was happy with Avast I simply upgraded to Avast Internet Security, and I’m very happy. I feel a lot more comfortable now!

Affordable product

 Richard B
High quality product, at a very affordable price.
